FAST FOOD GLUTEN-FREE IN SPAIN

fast food gluten free
I like to say that Spain is a gluten-free friendly country. Not only can you find gluten-free options in exclusive restaurants, but also in cheaper big chains of fast food. The first one involved in gluten-free diet was Telepizza, then Vips Group, McDonalds and Burger King, and lately Rodilla, who has met an agreement with the Coeliacs Association of Madrid.
McDonald's:
All of their restaurants in Spain have safe for coeliacs / celiacs food. The gluten free sandwiches are:
  • Hamburger
  • Big Mac
  • Cheeseburger
  • Quarter pounder with cheese
  • Mc Bacon
  • Mc Royal Deluxe
Gluten-free bread is included in all of them and also Deluxe potatoes are gluten-free, because they are fried in separate oil. In their website you can find the list of allergen ingredients of every product.
Locate your nearest McDonald's restaurant.

Burger King:
They offer gluten-free food in all their restaurants: meat, fries and Sandy. As for the meat, you need to ask them to cook it apart. You need to take your own bread, because they do not have gluten-free one.
They publish in their website the allergen information of their products.
They can not guarantee to avoid the cross contamination in their sandwiches, so it is not safe for coeliacs to eat in their restaurants.

Locate your nearest Burger King's restaurant.

Telepizza:
You can taste four kind of pizza safe for coeliacs / celiacs:
  • Ham and bacon pizza
  • Four cheeses pizza
  • Barbecue pizza
  • Carbonara pizza
Here you can read the allergen ingredients list of Telepizza products.
Most of the Telepizza restaurants offer gluten-free pizza but not all of them, you can search them here (Coeliacs Association of Madrid web page).

Rodilla:
In Rodilla shops you can taste gluten-free pieces of toast with butter, jam, tomato, "Nutella" or oil. They also offer muffins, hazelnut wafer or chocolate cake. Even gluten-free beer is available. First gluten-free sandwich!
Look for Rodilla shops with gluten-free products.
They have an agreement with the Federation of Coeliacs Associations of Spain (FACE).

Vips:
They offer only four gluten-free dishes:
  • Roman pizza
  • Verona lasagne
  • Alsacia sandwich
  • Profiteroles (dessert)
You can find them in the restaurants listed by the Coeliacs Association of Spain.

Hamburgology H3:
They belong to Vips Group and offer quality hamburgers, most of them gluten free, some apetizers and desserts. Here you can check the menu. They are available in their two restaurants in Madrid.
